Almost 150 years ago, the "Lichtenhainer Wasserfall" was already one of the earliest famous features of the Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland) and was the setting-off point for the first hikers who wandered on the "tourist paths" through this unique, beautiful region. The guesthouse, built in Swiss style in 1852, was, until the beginning of the 20th century, annexed to a chair-lift, pack-animal and guide´s station, so tha, to avoid the "terrible strain" of an ascent to the cow-shed, you could let yourself be carried up in the chair-lift by 2 carriers.

Our newly built holiday house is located close to the Malerweg hiking trail, above the romantic valley Kirnitzschtal. The house has 125 square meters of living space, with two floors and 4 bedrooms for 7 persons in total. Outside you can relax on the lawn and the terrace at the house. Moreover we have a garage and additional parking spaces. The location at the edge of the forest guarantees a quiet and relaxing stay. Well-known destinations for hikings and excursions, such as the historical Kirnitzschtalbahn railway running to the Lichtenhainer waterfall and the spa town Bad Schandau, or the Schrammsteine rock formation and the mountain Großer Winterberg can all be easily reached by foot.

Apartment type 3 (4 beds) is in the 2nd floor with a cosy dwelling, a bedroom and a sleep area. The intimate house was restored costly until 2001. You find here modern dwellings with complete comfort. The use of natural wood and stone gives a suitable ambience to the house. A visit of our approx. 3 ha large property with strewing fruit meadows, firs and old trees is a great experience for the kids. Balconies and terraces invite to relax. Even evenings at the campfire are possible. On rainy days or in the winter you will enjoy natatorium and sauna.

Saupsdorf is situated at the outskirts of Saxon Switzerland and very calm, convenient and offers perfect recreation. It is a very good starting point for hikes into the Saxonian and also Bohemian Switzerland. Moreover our state capital Dresden can be approached in 50 km and it is just 18km to the health resort Bad Schandau.
Our vacation home is in the middle of the village, but not directly lain at the road.
